Superstitions is something that is found in every culture and it difference from one country to the next.
As an Arab was have different meaning for different superstitions,Going back to the ancient times when the british where in Egypt and they where discovering the ancient tombs of the pharaoh they also believed in the well known Curse of the pharaohs the death of Lord Carnarvon six weeks after the opening of Tutankhamun’s tomb resulted in many curse stories.
Animals are frequent inspiration for superstitions like the owl is conceders to be a bad omen if see and even worse if heard, also the hyena is one of the most unluckiest animal symbols in the arab world because of there wildly ways and there uncleanliness.
Having your shoe upside down is disrespectful toward God.
The “Evil Eye” represents envy look where some arabs say it can kill a man so compliments are often rejected to prevent envy. The symbol use to word of the envy is a hand as it diverts the envy from the wearer to the amulet.
